How did you hear about AFS?
I saw posts from one of my co-workers on Facebook. I could see the changes she was making.
What/Who inspired you to take the first step toward getting in shape?
I was well over 200 lbs, pre-diabetic, and was having problems getting up from the floor at work because of knee pain.
What initially intrigued you about our program/why did you sign up?
I liked the idea of having someone there while working out to ensure I am doing things correctly. When I tried to train on my own I always ended up with injuries.
How did you achieve the success you’ve seen thus far?
Following the recommendations given by Jen and AFS. Doing simple things to remind me of how far I’ve come. I use the 40lb versa bag to simulate the weight I’ve lost and I have a picture of what I looked like at my highest weight at my desk. I also sign up for different races to keep me motivated to train. Finding different types of races you enjoy is key. Triathlons, 5k runs, & 5k swims are my go to.
What changes have you noticed in your life since starting with AFS?
I am a lot healthier. I am no longer pre-diabetic, my knee pain is gone, and I can keep up with my grandkids!
Advice you can offer others looking to make changes you’ve made?
Never give up. There will be setbacks. Shake it off and start again. You will feel better and you will get there in your own time.
Susan, we’re so lucky to have you as a client! We’ve enjoyed watching your successes through out the past year 🙂
