1) How did you hear about AFS?
Facebook. Either one of my friends had liked AFS or there was an ad for the Plymouth location that was opening up.
2) What/Who inspired you to take the first step toward getting in shape?
My first step was probably over 25 years ago. You know the saying of one step forward and two steps back? That was my life. However, everything changed with the birth of my son. He was born a year ago, and I wanted to make sure I was around for as long of his life as possible.
3) What initially intrigued you about our program/why did you sign up?
One thing I have learned with the successes and failures in weight loss is that accountability is key. This program ensures you are accountable for your consumption and exercise. I needed that.
4) How did you achieve the success you’ve seen thus far?
I’ve followed the program. Well, mostly (get off my back Devin, I’ll get another day of exercise in! Sheesh!) And food logging. I personally believe there is a HUGE amount of self deception in our society. We think we can eat what we want and take a walk around the block to “burn it off”. Truth is that better be a BIG block.
5) What changes have you noticed in your life since starting with AFS?
People have complimented me a lot recently, and my clothes fit a lot better. And when I mean better, I mean, I’ve gone to that section of my closet where clothes I haven’t worn in years were there just waiting for me. Come on, I’m not the only one with that section of closet right? Oh, and in class, I sweat a lot more. That’s not weird right?
6) Advice you can offer others looking to make changes you’ve made?
Don’t expect it to happen overnight, and don’t expect it to be easy. Just be faithful to the program, because it works.
You’ve had great success thus far, Paul! Keep it up!
