Sitting, slouching, bending, standing, kneeling, reaching, lifting, running, walking. Chances are you’re doing your fair share of these things every day, some maybe substantially more than others. Our bodies have memory, they learn the path of least resistance and move accordingly.

The problem is that over time these movement patterns can lead to imbalances. Muscles weaken, corresponding muscles become tight, and eventually, pain and injury occur. Yoga at AFS is designed to help return you to your breath and over time to help you move happier. Sure, we’ll have you touching your toes in no time, but you’ll also increase mobility and strength in the hips, shoulders, and lower back. Not to mention build stability in your core. This class is perfect for beginner exercisers, those recovering from injuries, and weekend warriors who want to feel better while doing their favorite activities. Why this Yoga Program is Different

Your own personal fitness coach is included! At AFS, we don’t think you should have to do this alone, that’s why we match you up with a coach that guides you and supports you every step of the way.

Below are brief explanations of the components of your relationship with your AFS fitness coach:

Personal Trainer Assignment: Each AFS client is assigned to his or her own coach (degreed and certified personal trainer). Based on your goals, personality, and needs, we’ll match you with the coach we think you’ll mesh best with.

Accountability: Life can get in the way of everyone’s exercise program from time-to-time, and your coach is there to help you through those rough times with motivating messages when you miss workouts, encouraging emails when you’re struggling nutritionally, and reassurance when it seems like your goals are insurmountable.

Body Composition Analysis: We do in-person check-ins every 6 weeks to make sure things are on track. We’ll take measurements, go over game tape, and set you up for success on the next 6 weeks of your journey. Plans will be made, high fives will be given.

Nutrition: No cookie cutter diet plans. Your coach is going to learn your lifestyle and habits. Once we understand what you need to work on, you’ll be given weekly behavioral goals designed around implementing healthier habits. Once you solidify a new healthy habit, you get a new goal! We do it slowly, we do it sustainably, and you’ll never have to do a diet again.

Workout-Recovery Log Review: You’ll be able to keep your coach constantly updated on your sleep, soreness, stress, and motivation levels. This ensures we can make any tweaks to your program on the fly so we can keep you running on all cylinders.

Supplemental Exercise Prescription: Your coach will prescribe “homework” for you based on your unique goals and lifestyle. From corrective exercises performed to prevent injury, to hotel room workouts for when you travel, we’ll spell out in precise detail the workouts you’re doing outside of our gym.

Your relationship with your coach is the single-most critical aspect of your program at AFS. Your coach will provide the individualization, support, motivation, and accountability you need to reach your goals. If you fail, we fail.
