1.)  How did you hear about AFS?

I saw an ad for AFS on Facebook!  It said AFS was new to Plymouth so I did a (tiny) bit of research before I decided to take a chance and contact them!

2.)  What/Who inspired you to take the first step toward getting in shape?

I’ve tried getting in shape a few times in the past few years, and it works for a while but nothing would stick and eventually I gained all that I lost back and then some.  I was inspired to commit to this by my fiancé  Brian (who is also in the AFS program).  We are getting married in October, and both of us decided we need to get into a routine and start getting in shape.  Not just for the wedding, but for a great way for us to start things out.

3.)  What initially intrigued you about our program/why did you sign up?

What really got me to sign up for AFS was the fitness practitioner aspect of the program. I loved that as a client you were given a practitioner to help with not only fitness, but nutrition as well.  This feeling of being “responsible” to not only myself for what I am doing is really motivating to me.  Plus, the practitioners are super awesome! 🙂

4.)  How did you achieve the success you’ve seen thus far?

I’ve achieved my success so far by really committing to the lifestyle of AFS. This also doesn’t mean I’ve done anything too strict or drastic. I try really hard to stick to my given calories for the day, and am very honest with what I log even if it means I go over for the day.   I have also gotten better with making my own meals.  I’ve joined Door to Door Organics (super awesome for fruits and veggies and anything else!).  I always found going to fast food so easy, I work early hours and the last thing I would want to do it pack a lunch at 5:30am, so I would go out.  Now, I try really hard to make my lunch the night before. When I do forget to do that, instead of turning to fast food I stop at the grocery store during my lunch and get salad and fruit or veggies.  These “little things” have done wonders when combined with the AFS weight loss classes and the routines to do at home given to me by Chris (my practitioner).

5.) What changes have you noticed in your life since starting with AFS?

Since starting with AFS I have noticed multiple changes in my life.  I am a Preschool teacher and I have noticed that I have a lot more energy to play more outside and do more active activities with the kids in my class.  I have also noticed lately that I am not so tired.  I have more energy in general to last me through the day.  I also seem to be more positive and probably in a better mood, haha.    It has also been great to see the physical changes. It is nice to try things on and have to buy the size down of what you would normally buy!

6.)  Advice you can offer others looking to make changes like you’ve made?

Be confident! Believe that you really can make the changes you are aiming for!  Making small changes at a time and building on those changes really can make a difference.  Don’t let anyone make you believe you won’t be successful!

Congrats Brian and Shana! We want an invite to that wedding! 🙂
