1) How did you hear about AFS?

I heard about AFS through my friends/colleagues-Judy Ivacko and Jodi Fichera.

2) What/Who inspired you to take the first step toward getting in shape?

Judy and Jodi had been after me for a while to try AFS, but I’d been going to a small gym, had worked with a trainer, ate healthily and just thought the changes in my body were from getting a little older. Then I went for a physical with my doctor and weighed almost as much as I did at the end of my first pregnancy! So I decided to give it a try.

3) What initially intrigued you about our program/why did you sign up?

What I liked about AFS was the support I received from my trainer, the frequent assessments, and that people were so friendly. And, the exercises are always different–I can’t get bored! I also really appreciate the trainers altering and adjusting the exercises to my particular orthopedic issues.

4) How did you achieve the success you’ve seen thus far?

I’ve lost 27 pounds since that doctor’s visit in January, and done this through using FatSecret (truly counting and not just estimating calories), optimizing protein intake, and seeing progress with my reassessments. My friends have been very supportive; Amy Mosher joined about the same time and has been a hard act to follow (a little competition?) My trainer, Jen, is an inspiration and a great motivator!

5) What changes have you noticed in your life since starting with AFS?

Since I’ve started, I notice an increase in energy and optimism. I feel that I am better able to handle the stresses at work and in my personal life. My chronic back pain  is pretty much gone!

6) Advice you can offer others looking to make changes you’ve made?

The advice I would offer to others is to stick to the program! It is a lot of work to be at the gym, count and record your calories, and not indulge yourself too often (though once in a while is good!) But it is well worth  the work…

Glad you decided to give us a shot 🙂
