 1) How did you hear about AFS?

I heard about AFS through two of my friends.

 2) What/Who inspired you to take the first step toward getting in shape?

My passion for horseback riding was the driving force for me to get back into the gym. If I was going to ask my horse to be at the top of his game I needed to make sure I was a strong and fit partner.

 3) What initially intrigued you about our program/why did you sign up?

I was intrigued by the accountability factor. I knew I could be successful, I just needed someone to help me get on the right track. I wasn’t sure I had enough time to make it to the gym but Nate convinced me to give it a shot and after a couple weeks I was totally hooked. Still going strong after 3 1/2 years!!!

 4) How did you achieve the success you’ve seen thus far?

I achieved success through weekly food prep,  daily food logging, consistently coming to class and getting all my supplemental workouts in. Weekly food prep ensures that I have plenty of good food available and it is easy to make good food choices.

 5) What changes have you noticed in your life since starting with AFS?

Where do I start… the changes I have made have been amazing!!!  I’ve made huge strides in my horseback riding both in the dressage arena and jumping. I made some huge changes physically and have maintained them long term.  I’ve run a few 5k races over the last couple of years too. This year I finished 5th in my age group at the Shamrock and Shenanigan’s 5k and I was the first female finisher in the American  Heart Association  5k. From timid and unsure to confident and ready for the next adventure.

6) Advice you can offer others looking to make changes you’ve made?

My advice for everyone is to make the commitment,  food log,  do what your practitioner asks of you and have fun! Change can be scary but it can be so amazing!!!

Congrats Deb, so glad you took a leap of faith with us!
