Dear Mom,

You taught me to care for all people, no matter their race, religion, sexual orientation, or status. I’m an empathetic person because of you.

Love, Bailey

Dear Mom,

My entire life I’ve watched you selflessly serve everyone around you. Me, our family, your grade school students, everyone you meet. I wanted to touch lives like you did mom, I wanted to teach! Like you. I use your patience, passion, and caring everyday in each client meeting, assessment, and class. I hope I make you proud.

Love, Chris

Dear Mom,

You are the most loving, caring, and selfless person I know. I wouldn’t be the person I am today with the unconditional love and support you’ve given me all these years. Thank you mom, I love you!

Love, Sawyer

Dear Mom,

I can’t thank you for this 100% of the time, but I definitely got my skills for baking from you 😉 I just have to limit how often I use those skills. I love you so much.

Love, Kim

Dear Mom,

Being without a father figure my entire life, you’ve stepped in and served both roles. I may not have seen you every night, but I know it’s because you were out there taking care of me and our growing family. You’ve taught me patience and perseverance for when times are tough and you’ve taught me independence when it’s time to step up and take care of business. I love you to the moon and back mom, thank you for all you’ve done.

Love, Jen

Dear Mom,

You taught me to love and accept myself for who I am. You always said the key to true happiness and fulfillment was to learn to love 100% of who you are and others will too. I’ll never forget the lessons you’ve taught me mom, I love you.

Love, Corinne

Dear Grandma,

I got my toughness and tenacity from you. You’ve always made me feel strong… You’d say: “No matter what you’re going through, keep your head up, It could be worse!” I’ve learned so much from you.

Love, Alyssa

Dear Mom,

First I have to thank you for the height..I tower over 1st and 2nd graders and can dunk a basketball on the fisher price hoop. Aside from the incredible physical characteristics I got from you, I’ve also learned how to be a good person. In every interaction I have every day I find myself thinking: “What would mom do, what would she say, how would she make this person feel better.” Sometimes it’s easy to identify one eloquent trait, but there isn’t just one thing I’ve learned from you, it’s everything.

Love, Jared

Dear Mom,

The most important lesson I’ve learned from you is to appreciate teachers. Not just school teachers (although they are definitely deserving). I’ve learned to appreciate the time, energy, commitment, and kindness that ALL teachers put into their work. I think that’s why I love being at AFS so much, I’m surrounded by “life” teachers that keep me growing and learning everyday. I’ll always have a special place in my heart though for my first teacher, that’s you mom. I love you!

Love, Kate

Dear Mom,

You taught me the art of tenacity. I say tenacity is an “art” because of how graceful you are in conquering obstacles. You made breast cancer look like a speed bump. I’m a relentless person because I learned from the best. I love you Mom!!

Love, Kemper

Dear Mom,

You inspire and motivate me every day. I’ve never had to look up motivational quotes for inspiration because I have you instead 😉 Your tireless work ethic and incredibly kind and giving heart are a rare combination that I try to embody in the work that I do. I hope I make you proud mom, I love you.

Love, Jessie

Dear Mom,

I love all the lessons you’ve taught me, but one that sticks with me is taking responsibility for your actions. You said it best: “Don’t be a jerk, but if you slip up and are a jerk, make sure you apologize for it.” Haha, such wisdom in the simplicity. I love you mom.

Love, Maeve

Dear Mom,

You’ve always taught me to give back to the community. “Corbin, you’re doing well if you change just one life for the better each day.” Mom, that’s the goal I wake up with everyday and I don’t sleep until it’s done. Thank you for making me who I am.

Love, Corbin

Dear Mom,

Thank you for teaching me how to be kind, caring, and passionate. These traits that you exemplify so effortlessly are the same traits that have brought me this far in my life. I wouldn’t be where I am today without you.

Love, Mike

Dear Mom,

Aside from being an exact genetic copy of you, I also learned a heck of a lot about life from you. They made me choose one lesson or quality you passed on to me, so even though they’re countless, the most important lesson I’ve learned from you is genuineness. If you asked 10 people who know you, they’d all say: “Penny will ALWAYS tell you like it is.” You are so loved by so many because it’s so easy to tell exactly where your heart is. Seeing that quality in you has allowed me to feel comfortable giving the world the same. I’m me because of you mom, I love you.

Love, Nate

Dear Mom,

I’ve learned so much more than one valuable lesson from you, but the one I carry every day is to love the life you live and never sweat the small stuff. I can only hope I picked up half your “Mom Power” as I start my journey as a mom 🙂

Love, Brittany

Before you head to the store to get flowers, cards, gifts, etc. Just take some time today and let your mom know you she did a good job raising you and that you appreciate her. After all, that’s all she’s ever wanted.

Happy Mother’s day!
