1) How did you hear about AFS?
I first learned about AFS through a google search and then, shortly thereafter, through a friend who’s mom is an AFS client and believer.  I had been looking for something different, because everything I had tried on my own was not working.

2) What/Who inspired you to take the first step toward getting in shape?
I have been trying to get back in shape after having my second baby in 2014. I would commit myself to a new exercise regimen and better eating habits, but couldn’t maintain any kind of consistent change. Between work and being a mom to two toddlers, I had trouble keeping myself accountable.  I knew that I needed to find some way to take care of myself.

3) What initially intrigued you about our program/why did you sign up?
The accountability that came with being assigned my own Fitness Practitioner (the amazing Chris Eskin) was huge for me. With the structure of the always different WLS classes, along with the food logging, and the personal attention of a Fitness Practitioner, AFS had everything I needed at a price I could manage. It was the perfect fit!

4) How did you achieve the success you’ve seen thus far?
At class, I give my all every time. If I am going to be away from my family 3 times a week, I’m not going to mess around. The motivation provided by the phenomenal instructors, gives me the strength to keep going when things get tough. In the past, when I would try to stick with a workout schedule, I would always lose interest. I LOVE going to WLS class. It is never the same and I never get bored.

Historian, David McCullough has said that the lesson he has learned from all of his work studying the great stories of America’s past is that “very little of consequence has been accomplished alone.”  I have achieved the success that I have seen thus far because it has not been done alone.  Chris has been such a key part of my success. He is enthusiastic and energizing. It is hard to say in a few words how much I appreciate all of Chris’s work. His sincere belief in me has sometimes been the only thing that has kept me focused. He has high expectations and is ALWAYS full of energy. It’s infectious and inspiring. I eagerly await my graded food logs and messages from him each week. It’s a little boost to get me through. He pushes me to do better and better and I can honestly say that I have accomplished more than I thought I would be able to…and I owe so much of that to his guidance.

I also have to thank my husband for his support in all of this. I couldn’t have done any of this without him!

5) What changes have you noticed in your life since starting with AFS?
I feel like a different person.  I feel stronger in every way possible…physically, mentally, emotionally.  I am happier and more confident.  I have energy to keep up with my kids.  I am on my way to reaching my goals and for the first time in a long time…I know that I am going to meet them.  It’s exciting to see results and to know that every day you are closer to the stronger, healthier version of yourself you set out to find.

6) Advice you can offer others looking to make changes you’ve made?
If you’re thinking about checking out AFS, do it. Join. Trust the system, believe in you and always push for more! You won’t regret it.  It is so cheesy to say, but this place has changed my life.  Honestly.

You will be part of a system that works and surrounded by people that have a sincere belief in your ability to accomplish greatness.  Not much is more motivating than that!

Thanks for the encouraging words, Erin! This story is sure to motivate others! Keep up the great work! -AFS Team
