Adam is a recent graduate from the University of Michigan’s School of Kinesiology, graduating with a B.S. in Applied Exercise Science. He is also an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer. He is passionate about educating members about topics related to health and fitness, and enjoys helping members optimize their movements by providing in-depth cues that emphasize perfect form. Adam approaches every interaction as an opportunity to be empathetic, supportive, and non-judgmental. He truly wants all members to have complete control and autonomy over their own life, and he believes that is the best way to make healthy lifestyle choices sustainable.
Adam earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Performance and Fitness Entrepreneurship from Eastern Michigan University and certifications from ACSM in Exercise Physiology and Precision Nutrition. Adam understands the importance of mobility, stability, and strength. He coaches a balance between fitness and a social lifestyle.
Adrian has a Masters of Science in Strength and Conditioning from the University of Brighton (UK). He learned his Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science from San Francisco State University. Adrian has a wide range of experience working with kids, athletes, adults, and specialty populations.
Ann earned Master’s in Exercise Physiology from Eastern Michigan University. She holds 3 American College of Sports Medicine certifications; Personal Trainer, Cancer Exercise Trainer, and Clinical Exercise Physiologist. Her clinical experience in cardiac rehab and stress testing informed her more recent work running positive evidence-based programs.
Blake is passionate about coaching people to health and fitness greatness. His passion stems from not receiving proper guidance during his own training. This guides him to coach on reaching fitness goals. Blake has a B.S. in Applied Exercise Science from the University of Michigan and has more than eight years of fitness experience.
Chris has a Bachelors of Exercise Science from Eastern Michigan University.. Over 12 years at AFS,Chris has worked with a variety of members and impacted many lives. After reopening due to the pandemic, Chris took on the responsibility of Operations Director where he continues to help serve the AFS community today.
Patrick is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Applied Exercise Science. He started his time at AFS as an intern and has a great love and admiration for the community and culture that AFS has built. His primary focus is to provide and support AFS members with a holistic health and care approach, tailored just for them. Regardless of age or experience, Patrick keeps that same approach for all members of AFS.
Tyler is a Personal Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science from Eastern Michigan University. His love for sports and interest in how athlete’s develop through training is what lead him into his fitness profession. He feels a true calling to help members in their health and fitness journey.
As the Member Experience Director Claire works passionately to align AFS’s best practices, procedures, and habits to benefit the well-being of members. She believes everyone deserves to live their best life and is so excited to be dedicating her life’s work to helping others achieve wellness and feeling supported.
Kemper Sosa is Co-Owner & General Manager for Applied Fitness Solutions who prioritizes cultivating a positive and supportive environment for the AFS team and members. He utilizes the skills of coaching and mentoring, developed from personal training to support in providing purposeful & meaningful work. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a B.S in Exercise Science and a Minor in Human Nutrition. He also holds the American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer Credential, Exercise Physiologist credential and the National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification.
Michael Stack is the founder & CEO of Applied Fitness Solutions and Frontline Fitness Pros. He is a faculty lecturer for theUniversity of Michigan’s School of Kinesiology. He is also the creator and the host of the Wellness Paradox Podcast, produced in conjunction with University of Michigan.
Michael is an exercise physiologist by training and a health entrepreneur, health educator, and fitness industry advocate by trade. He is dedicated to enhancing the standard of practice of, and advocating for, fitness and wellness professionals to
ensure they become an essential constituent in the healthcare delivery system.
With a career spanning over three decades in fitness, health, and wellness Michael has a deep knowledge of exercise
physiology, health/wellness coaching, lifestyle interventions to mitigate chronic disease and leadership. He is credentialed
through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as an Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP), Exercise is Medicine
practitioner (ASCM-EIM), and a Physical Activity in Public Health Specialist (ACSM-PAPHS). Michael is a National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and a CDC Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) Lifestyle Coach.
Michael received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan’s School of Kinesiology in 2004 and is currently a
Master’s of Public Health (MPH) candidate at University of Michigan, with a specific concentration in health behavior and
Michael is a board of directors’ member for the Physical Activity Alliance and Michigan Fitness Clubs Association. He sits on the University of Michigan’s School of Kinesiology Alumni Board of Governors. Michael is an expert curriculum reviewer for the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Finally, he is a member of the executive leadership team for American Heart Association’s Heart Walk.
Michael lectures nationally for several health/fitness certification and continuing educations, including; IHRSA, the Medical Fitness Association, the National Strength & Conditioning Association, and SCW Fitness.
