About Me
I’m only a senior in high school, but still have quite the fitness experience if I do say so myself. My fitness journey really started in an unexpected way. I was a swimmer since I was very young, but lost my passion for it. I developed an eating disorder during my middle school years and was fortunate enough to receive great help for it. Following recovery, I ventured into the gym. I fell in love with being in the gym and creating a better me. In 2016, I competed in my first powerlifting competition. Ultimately, I have competed several times since, including taking 1st place at USAPL Nationals in 2017 and becoming 4th in the World at IPF Worlds in 2018. Powerlifting and being in the gym has truly become where I feel the most comfortable. I hope to one day become a certified personal trainer and help others to live a positive lifestyle while achieving their goals.
What Will I Be Doing At AFS?
My goal with AFS is to make everyone feel at home and comfortable as soon as they walk through the door. Sometimes starting something new is hard, especially if it involves stepping out of one’s comfort zone. I want to make people feel empowered and that their journey is important. AFS uniquely creates a family-style atmosphere, and I want to make sure that even the front desk portrays that as well.
Outside of AFS
When I’m not in the gym training for my next meet, I can often be found trying new foods and traveling. Up until a few years ago, I’d never tried Mediterranean, Japanese, Korean, or Indian cuisines, but now I have grown a love for each one of them and hope to try more and more cuisines and dishes soon. I absolutely love traveling. Over the past few years, I’ve been able to go to Banff, Denver, Los Angeles, and Toronto. I just love seeing different areas and how lives are lived elsewhere. If I’m not doing either of those things, I’m honestly probably studying for some AP class at home 🙂
