What motivated you to start at AFS?
I came to AFS at a time when my efforts to work out felt ineffective in gaining results toward my goals. Every time I increased my exercise time or changed my routine, I would either become ill or unable to lose weight. I was afraid to try more or add weights due to inexperience and lack of education in this area. A friend suggested I check this place out. I wanted to improve my attitude about me at the time; not only avoid burnout but feel more energized and engaged in my wellness. Waiting for one of my first meetings, I read about the philosophy of AFS (on the wall) and (was) hoping you and your team could be “agents of change” for me.
What keeps you coming back to AFS?
My commitment to be the best version of myself! Plus, I always feel better after a session here and look forward to more!
What has been the most rewarding part of your experience?
There are many rewarding parts of my experience at AFS and it is hard to choose one as the most rewarding. However, if I had to choose one, it would be the amazing positive influence that participation is having on my personal and professional life. My colleagues, employees, friends and family continue to comment on my positive outlook and approach to life, my energy, etc. I can’t begin to tell you how great it feels when they tell me how great I look too, but that is only a secondary benefit. I feel great most of the time and can be honest but less negative when I am having a less than stellar day.
What advice would you give to others looking to start at AFS?
Try it with the intention of achieving goals and meeting some amazing and wonderful people –the team that works at AFS as well as the community of participants! They are inspiring, supportive, caring, compassionate people motivated to help others become healthier, more fit and more successful!
